Welcome to our Second Grade Webpage
"No one has yet realized the wealth
of sympathy, the kindness and generosity hidden in the soul
of a child. The effort of every true education should be to
unlock that treasure"
(Emma Goldman).
“If anyone
serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so
that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.”
(1Peter 4:11)
Second Grade is the foundation for success in higher
grades!
Learning is fun at Sacred Heart Villa School! Our Second
Grade academic program is sequentially designed to build a
solid foundation for success. It important that First Grade
parents get involved in their child’s process of learning,
especially as they start learning how to read. Taking the
time to read with your child is one way of helping him/her
to understand that learning is important.
It is also important that you know what your child is learning
in the classroom so as to follow up with the assignments.
Besides helping your child with the homework assignments,
there are some available resources that can assist you to
help your child at home so as to reinforce what he/she is
learning in school. Below are some internet resources that
offer some activities and games for parents to help their
children learn the basics skills in Reading, Phonics, Math,
English Grammar and other subject areas.
