Registration, Catholic Schools Week and Chinese Auction 2010:

Registration: February 6, 2010 from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M.

Parents of the Pre-K students are receiving the pre-registration packet with the monthly letter. These children must register if, in September, they will be in Pre-K or Kdgn. Included in the registration is an explanation letter and the necessary registration froms, also the tuition schedule for the upcoming school year and the tuition option form must be signed and returned with the registration. We ask that the forms be returned by Friday, January 22nd.

Catholic Schools Week: January 31 - February 6th

We will celebrate Catholics Schools' Week from January 31st to February 6th. The theme for this year is "Catholic Schools Dividends for Life." Please, come and join us as we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. We have several activities planned for the week:
Monday, February 1st, we will have a DRESS DOWN DAY. students can dress as a priest, nun, monk or a fvorite saint of their choice.

Tuesday, February 2nd will be CULTURE DAY. Studentsselect a country of their choice and share something intersting facts they like about the culture of that particular country. This will help the students to learn, respect and appreciate the richness other cultures.

Wednesday, February 3rd, we will have a POT LUCK LUNCH. Parents and Gradnparents are invited to come. Just bring a dish to share. Lunch will begin at 12 noon.

Friday, February 5th, students in Grade 2-5 will explain their Science Projects before the judges. In order to set up on Thursday, the projects must be in school on Thursday. Students in Grades Kindergarten and 1st will explain their projects to their classmates and they will receive a certificate of participation.

Saturday, February 6th from 2-5pm, we will have our Registration adn Open House for 2010-2011. Please, inform any friends with school age children, of this event.
Parents' Night conferences will b on Tuesday, February 9th. Time for the schedulaed conferences will be sent home on February 1st.

Fund-raisers
The Villa collects the Campbell’s labels and General Mills “Big G” throughout the year. We also participate in the Target school program. If you would like to be a part of the Target program you have to sign up at the store and specify Sacred Heart Villa as the school of your choice. More information is available at the store.

The Villa has three mandatory fund raisers that all families should participate in. They are the Candy Bar Sale, 300 Club, and our main event which is the Chinese Auction. There are also a few optional fund raisers.

Chinese Auction & Luncheon 2010:
The Sacred Heart Villa School Chinese Auction & Luncheon, the Big Event is coming up on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Niagara Falls Country Club, Mountain View Drive, Lewiston, NY. This is the time to start putting your baskets together, when the January sales are on. The value must be $50.00 but you get the items on sale and you don't have to spend that amount. There should be at least one basket per family. Doors will be open at 10am (Jeans Prohibited). Lunch and Basket Drawings stat at Noon. Tickets are availabel now. Just call 716-284-8273 for Reservations. Tickets are $40:00 per person or 2 for $75:00. Tables of Ten are available. Additional tickets, large ticket items, raffle and 50/50 tickets can be purchsed at the door.

300 Club Drawings:
The 300 Club drawings will begin in November. Sr. Denise is asking everyone to send in the names and numbers of the tickets so she can get her book up to date. Also, please, be sure your payments are up to date.

: : Recycling Center: :
The Villa is a Paper Recycling location. Parents, friend, and neighbors as well as businesses can drop off newspapers, magazines, and any type of paper EXCEPT CARDBOARD. The bin is located in the end parking lot. This is a fund raising vehicle for the school and it is available all year long. The school receives money for the paper collected.
